Start / Sit – NFL Week 4

Steve Hamann

Welcome back for Week 4 Start/Sits! This week kicked off Thursday with two future stars in Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow going throw for throw and blow for blow! So whether you need to rebound from a poor Thursday or want to continue dominating your league, here are this weeks Starts and Sits.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr – at Minnesota Vikings

Superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. returned to the field last week and immediately impacted the Cleveland Browns’ offense. Beckham led the Browns in targets with nine last week and brought in five of them. The Browns square off against the Minnesota Vikings defense, who has struggled this year, allowing over 600 yards and six touchdowns to opposing wide receivers. Beckham will often be called on with Jarvis Landry still sidelined to provide big plays for the Browns. So I wouldn’t think twice, start him!

Logan Thomas

Logan Thomas – at Atlanta Falcons

Logan Thomas has been flying under the radar a bit this year. Thomas has scored in two of his three games and is averaging about 40 receiving yards each week. WFT and Thomas are set to play the Atlanta Falcons, who consistently allow opposing tight ends to find paydirt. Curtis Samuel returning does hurt Thomas’ ceiling a bit but expect the Football Team to ease Samuel back this week, allowing Thomas to still see his fair share of opportunities.

Chris Carson

Chris Carson – at San Francisco 49ers

Seahawks running back Chris Carson has exceeded expectations and has been a significant player in fantasy football this year. Seattle and Carson are trying to bounce back from two straight losses. They face off against division rival, the San Francisco 49ers. Carson has been effective on every carry averaging nearly 5 yards per attempt. His opponent, the 49ers, have struggled against opposing running backs, allowing them 88 rushing yards on average. If Carson can continue to find the endzone like he has this year, he will have a huge game this week!

Roby Anderson

Robby Anderson – at Dallas Cowboys

I can’t find any justifiable reason that one could start Robby Anderson. He has been an enormous disappointment through three weeks, and his rapport with QB Sam Darnold seems to be non-existent. Anderson has five receptions through three weeks this year. Consistency is key in fantasy football, and Anderson is nothing but a boom or mega-bust candidate every week. DJ Moore’s strong play this year has trumped anything Anderson can do. The Panthers’ wide receivers will go against reigning defensive player of the month Trevon Diggs, who has shut down his opponents. Bench Robby Anderson with ease this week as this has disaster written all over it.

Ty’Son Williams – at Denver Broncos

Boy, was I wrong on Ty’Son Williams last week. I thought he would have a massive day against Detroit, but he only rushed for 22 yards. If Williams couldn’t get it done against Detroit this week, he will have trouble against the Denver Broncos defense. Denver has held running backs out of the endzone this year and made them earn it by gaining yards on the ground against a formidable defense. The only Raven that I see having a big day on the ground is Lamar Jackson. I still like Williams down the stretch of the season, but this matchup is too much for him.

Ronald Jones

Ronald Jones II – at New England Patriots

You’d have to be a lunatic to start Ronald Jones this week. Jones has been a colossal disappointment this year to fantasy owners. After being named the starter to begin the season, Jones was quickly replaced by Leonard Fournette. As a result, Jones has only 15 carries through three weeks and has seen about 30% fewer snaps than Fournette. I hope the Bucs cut Jones loose soon and allow another team to try and revitalize his career. Until that happens, fantasy owners should cement him on their bench.
