Fantasy Hockey Streamers

Welcome to week seven of the fantasy hockey season. Let’s review this week’s round of streamers as we navigate uncertain schedules and injuries.

I have picked these players because they have been on fire in the past week. These moves can help your team build towards winning this week and potentially more to come.

Mats Zuccarello
TheScore.com

Mats Zuccarello – Minnesota Wild

This Minnesota Wild forward has nine points in the last seven games. He also has a streak of one point in the previous five games. His ownership is 57% in ESPN fantasy Leagues. For the season, he has three goals and eight helpers in seven games played. The Minnesota Wild play the Vegas Golden Knights and end the week with the Arizona Coyotes.

Oliver Wahlstrom – New York Islanders

Oliver Wahlstrom is a great streaming option for this week. Wahlstrom averages about ten minutes of ice time but has 5 points in four games; He’s making the most of his opportunities. He’s also getting the puck to the net, shooting 14 shots on goal in six games. He is ranked 53rd amongst forwards in ESPN leagues; grab him while you can.

Nazem Kadri

Nazem Kadri – Colorado Avalanche

Nazem Kadri is a solid addition because he can offer you a lot of shots on goal. He is owned in 55% of ESPN leagues and has four points in the last four games. This week they faceoff with the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks for a total of four games this week. The Ducks are eighth in shots on goal allowed. The Sharks are 30th in goals allowed and 28th in shots on goal allowed. Those opponents offer significant upside!

Drake Batherson – Ottawa Sentators

Drake Batherson is the hottest add this week. In ESPN leagues, he’s added at a 40.6% rate. His ownership is 48% of ESPN leagues. Batherson has 15 points in 23 games and eight points in the last five games. Probably because he’s shooting a ton; he’s totaled 52 shots on goal. Their opponents for the week are the beat-up Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadians, who are on a five-game losing streak.

Defensive adds

Adding to your defensive core is also essential in fantasy hockey. Finding an offensive and defensive balance is critical. If you need a boost defensively, here are two people you may consider.

MacKenzie Weegar

MacKenzie Weegar – Florida Panthers

MacKenzie Weegar does not light up the score sheet with goals and assists. However, he does have seven points in the last two weeks, including three assists in the previous five games. Another stat that Weegar can offer is hitting. He has 16 hits during the last week. Mackenzie Weegar’s ownership is 13% in ESPN leagues. So this is worth a flyer because the Panther’s offense is in the top half of the league’s total goals per game, plus number one in shots on goal. The schedule this week includes two games versus the Hurricanes and two against the Predators.

Brett Pesce – Carolina Hurricanes

Brett Pesce is a must roster! He is ranked 37 amongst defensemen in ESPN leagues. Pesce’s ownership is 22% in ESPN leagues, and his stock has risen 12% this week. He has five points in the last five games. The Hurricanes play the Predators, Redwings, and Panthers this week.

I hope some of these streaming options are still available for you. This year has been difficult for fantasy hockey as the NHL continues to adapt to this fast paced condensed season. Stream these players until the wheels fall off!
