NFL Free Agency: NFC East

Every team in the NFC East would like to put last year behind them. No team in the NFC East had a winning record, including the division-winner Washington Football Team. How can these teams get better? Hitting home runs in free agency would be a good start! Now it’s easier said than done but here are my predictions for who each team should target.

Curtis Samuel

Curtis Samuel – New York Giants

Samuel will be a sought-after free agent by many teams this year. Samuel arguably had his best season last year, finishing with over a 1000 yards from the line of scrimmage. The Ohio State product has shown that he can be a gadget-type player for the Giants. This signing would alleviate the pressure put on Saquon Barkley and would help the Giants thrive. While Samuel might not be a true number one receiver, pairing him with Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram would give Daniel Jones the weapons he needs to succeed. If the Giants were smart, they’d have Curtis Samuel at the top of their list.

Will Fuller

Will Fuller – Washington Football Team

The Football Team was the most successful team to come out of the East last year. With a strong core of young players, Washington will be looking to add multiple players through free agency. One of the most significant additions they could add would be former Houston Texan Will Fuller. Pairing Fuller with Terry Mclaurin would take their offense to another dimension. Will Fuller’s speed can take the top off any defense in the NFL while taking some attention away from Scary Terry. The quarterback position may still be an issue for the Football Team, but adding more weapons on the outside would help whoever lines up under center next year.

Cory Davis

Corey Davis – Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have had a need at wide receiver for many seasons now. With Zach Ertz on his way out of town, no better time than the present to snag Corey Davis. Adding Davis would give the second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts a reliable target downfield. Corey Davis is only twenty-six years old and finished just shy of a thousand yards last year. The former Titan would add experience to go along with second-year wide receiver Jalen Reagor, and he’s relatively cheap. Philadelphia needs a lot of help, and Corey Davis would be the best place to start for a discount wide receiver.

Dak Prescott
(Rams Wire – USA Today)

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

This might be the easiest pick of the entire division. The Cowboys were atrocious last year without Dak Prescott under center. The Cowboys finished third in the division and missed the playoffs for the second straight year. Prescott was spectacular last year before getting injured and should do the same this year. The Cowboys have an elite receiving core, a strong running attack, and a strong line to surround Prescott. While it might not be a new face, it is the missing piece to a championship-caliber offense.
