NBA Best Bets 1/15/21
I hope you’re all doing well on this beautiful Friday! Our NBA Best Bets are rolling! We have a great lineup of games this evening, but I’ve honed in a few matchups for us to Take it to the Hizzy! Let’s make some cash on these Best Bets!
Dallas Mavericks @ Milwaukee Bucks
This matchup will feature two hot NBA teams in Dallas and Milwaukee. The Mavericks are 5-1 in their last six games, while the Bucks sit at 8-4 and have won six of their previous seven games. The Mavericks are just 6-4 on the season, but they also had Kristap Porzingis return from injury in their last game against the Charlotte Hornets. Porzingis recorded 16 points in 21 minutes, he’ll be a big boost for the offense from here out.
The Bucks have played well this week, their last loss was to the Jazz on Jan 8th at a score of 131-118, but they’ve dominated their previous three games against Detroit, Orlando, and Cleveland. The last few games have been lighter matchups for the Bucks, so it will be interesting to see how they come out against a revamped Mavericks team this evening. My best bet in this game is for the Mavericks to COVER +7. They are 6-4 ATS and have covered in five of their last six games. The Bucks will most likely win, but I believe Dallas will keep this one close and easily cover.
This game’s total is 228 on Betonline.ag, and it’s the highest number on the board. I’m leaning towards the under, but some trends are scaring me from placing that bet. The total has gone over in four of the Bucks’ previous five games. At the same time, the Mavericks have hit the Under in six of their last eight games. I feel the books have cooked a tricky number here, and I believe it will be close, but overall I like the Bucks to win outright. 115-110
Best Bet: Mavericks +7 / Second Favorite: Under 228
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
I’m going back to the well with the Memphis Grizzlies this evening! The Grizzlies helped cash a parlay two nights ago when they covered +2 against the Timberwolves in a 118-107 victory—the books adjusted today’s number to +1, and they’re giving it to us at -107. Oddly enough, -107 is the same value for the Grizzles to win SU.
The books expect a close game; the Grizzlies’ game total is 112, and the Timberwolves at 113. The total in their previous match was 223, and it hit. This evening’s total is 224.5, but I won’t be chasing this adjustment. I like the Under in this game, but trends hold me back, similar to the Mavs and Bucks. The total has gone over in six of the last Timberwolves seven games, while the under has hit in six of the Grizzlies’ previous seven games. It’s a tough call, but I’m leaning to the under pick.
Memphis plays good defense and sub-par offense. They rank 9th on defense for total scoring allowed but then rank 26th for total points scored on offense. Minnesota isn’t efficient on either side of the floor, but Karl Anthony Towns did return in their last game and provided some much-needed offense. KAT would record 25 points and 14 rebounds in 34 minutes of play. He, Malik Beasley, and D’Angelo Russell accounted for 66% of their total scoring in that game. I don’t expect the three to play with the same efficiency in back to back games. I see the Grizzlies winning this one 112-108.
Best Bet: Memphis +1 / Second Favorite Bet: Under 223
Parlay my two Best Bets and Take it to the Hizzy this evening! I hit both my two pick parlays from Wednesday and took yesterday off. We’re Hot!!
