NFL Super Wild Card Weekend: Picks and Best Bets

Imran Khan

We have made it to the playoffs! We are kicking off the postseason with the Super Wild Card weekend. For the first time, we will have six games to start the playoffs. Let’s see who’s season ends this week and who is one game closer to playing in Tampa for the Super Bowl.

Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills

The Colts are in the playoffs due to the Buffalo Bills throttling the Miami Dolphins last week. The Colts running game has found life over the last month of the season, with rookie Jonathan Taylor showing the promise many had expected. Philip Rivers has successfully succeeded this season, with TY Hilton having a strong finish to the regular season.

Unfortunately, I think Buffalo is going to end the Colts season this week. Buffalo is a Kyler Murray hail mary away from entering the Playoffs on a seven-game winning streak. This offense is hard to stop, and Josh Allen is playing MVP level football this season. I think Buffalo’s offense is going to put up too much for the Colts to match. I think Buffalo is a real threat to dethrone Kansas City.

Game Pick: Bills
Betting Pick: Bills -6.5

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

These two teams split their games in the regular season, with the home team winning each time. The Rams are unsure if quarterback Jared Goff will play in this game as he is battling a thumb injury. John Wolford was able to knock off the Cardinals with a big assist from the Rams steller defense.

The Seattle offense is much healthier than Los Angeles, and while I think the Rams defense will slow down Russell Wilson, they will not stop them. Whether it’s a banged-up Jared Goff or a healthy John Wolford, I don’t see the Rams being able to put up enough points to pull off the upset.

Game Pick: Seattle
Betting Pick: Seattle -3 ( it has fluctuated to 3.5 at some books)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Washington Football Team

Tampa Bay has finally shown the firepower that their offense has when everyone is healthy. They come into Washington, taking on the seven-win Football team. Washington seemed left for dead earlier this season when they were 2-7, but they managed to turn it around and finish the season 5-2. This team is playing with a lot of confidence. So much, so rookie Chase Young called out Tom Brady.

As Bruce Arians pointed out, the Washington Football Teams’ record is 7-9. The team is an impressive 5-1 under Alex Smith, who will be starting on Sunday. I think Tampa will win this game on the road, but Washington has a great defense, and I think they will keep this game close and competitive.

Game Pick: Tampa Bay
Betting Pick: Washington +8.5
