NBA Best Bets: 12/30/20

The NBA is treating us to a Six game slate this Wednesday Night! It’s been an interesting and profitable start to the year, so lets take a look at my best bets in the Association for 12/30/20.

Best Bets: 12/30/20

Atlanta Hawks @ Brooklyn Nets

Both of these teams have been scorching the scoreboard to start the year. The Nets sit 8th in the league in total scoring; however, the Baby Hawks rank #2. Expect Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving returns to the lineup tonight after resting Monday night on back to back games.

The Nets have played better defense thus far, and that’s going to be the most significant factor in their victory this evening. The Nets defense ranks #3 in total points and #1 in FG% allowed. The Hawks also allow a low FG% thus far, but they rank 17th in total points allowed. Atlanta is also 3-11 in their last 14 meetings against the Nets; it’s not the best spot for them. Expect the Stars to put on a show, but the Nets edge out the Win.

Pick: Nets ML

Charlotte Hornets @ Dallas Mavericks

Both teams are entering this game 1-2 straight up and against the spread. Despite the slow starts, I think we all still believe Dallas is the better team. The Mavericks are averaging 113 total points a game to Charlotte’s 109, so while I see the Mavs taking home a victory tonight, I also really like the Under of 224.5.

The Hornets aren’t shooting the lights out thus far, ranking 20th in FG% and 21st in total scoring. Of course, the Mavericks can set fire to court at any given time; but I expect them to get ahead and settle in with a lead. Charlotte has hit the under in 11 of their last 16 games. On the other hand, Dallas has hit the over in six of their previous seven home games. I’m riding with the Under.

Pick: Under 224.5

Milwaukee Bucks @ Miami Heat

The Bucks beat Miami last night by 47 points!! Why in the lord is the spread only at -5?! Jimmy Butler was out of the lineup last night and is still questionable for this evening’s back to back matchup. The Bucks are only 2-2 to start the season, so I don’t predict any sits from any of the Bucks players.

I have Antetokounmpo already in my DFS lineup, and I have no plans of sitting Middleton on my Fantasy Roster. Even if the Heat gets Butler back tonight, does he make up a 47 point differential? I’m betting not! I already see this line moving up. I would recommend jumping on it while you still can!

Pick: Bucs -5
