Week 14 – Sit or Starts

NFL Week 14 is here. For most, playoffs begin this week, and fantasy owners are trying to catch that elusive fantasy football championship. For others, you may be trying to avoid finishing in the bottom of the standings to avoid any league punishments for a last-place finish. Here are some of my best starts, along with a few players you may want to avoid in Week 14.

Start ‘Em

Hunter Henry – against the Atlanta Falcons

Chargers Tight End Hunter Henry has been one of the most consistent Tight Ends in the NFL this year. Unfortunately, in the Chargers Week 13 blowout loss, Henry was held to a season-low in targets, receptions, and yards. Fantasy owners should not worry as Henry draws a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in what shapes up to be a shootout in Week 14.

The Atlanta Falcons have given the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Henry should receive his typical five-plus targets from rookie quarterback Justin Herbert and hopes to find the end zone against a defense that has allowed nine touchdowns to tight ends this year. Place Hunter Henry in your starting lineup this week with confidence.

Corey Davis – at the Jacksonville Jaguars

One of the wide receivers that I have been most surprised by this year has been Corey Davis. The Titans wide receiver has already surpassed his 2019 stats in almost every category and figured out how to co-exist with A.J. Brown in the team’s offense this year. Last week, Davis posted his best game of the year, hauling in eleven catches for 182 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns.

This week, Davis will square off against division rival Jacksonville Jaguars, whom he has had success against earlier this year. The Jaguars rank in the bottom four in pass defense. Davis is an excellent WR2 in Week 14 and could pay dividends to owners who start him this week.

T.Y. Hilton – at the Las Vegas Raiders

Fantasy owners were ready to write off Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton after an abysmal start to the year, and rightfully so. For those who hung on to the veteran wide receiver or were lucky enough to get off the waiver, now is your time to cash-in. Hilton has had over 80 yards and a touchdown in back-to-back games.

This week, Hilton looks to continue that against the struggling Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders’ middle-of-the-pack defense has allowed the twelfth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Fantasy owners who have T.Y. should reward themselves for keeping him around by starting him this week and getting a playoff W.

Honorable Mention: Ryan Tannehill at the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brandon Aiyuk vs Washington Football Team, Mark Andrews at the Cleveland Browns
