NFL’s Week 12 kicked off on Thanksgiving Day and has been wild ever since. The Steelers have already had their game moved from Thursday to Sunday and is now scheduled for a Tuesday kick-off. Will Fuller and Antonio Gibson fantasy got the week started with a flurry of points. Here are some more players destined for break-out weeks and a few that may flop.
Week 12 Start ‘Ems
Curtis Samuel – at the Minnesota Vikings
Curtis Samuel has been a jack of all trades this year for the Panthers. Similar to his role at Ohio State, Samuel lines up in the slot and the backfield with Christian McCaffrey out due to injury. He has five touchdowns in the past five games and has been key to the Panthers’ offense.
Last week, Samuel led the team in targets with ten against the Detroit Lions. Samuel faces the Minnesota Vikings, who have given up the third-most points to opposing wide receivers. Look for the Panther wide receiver to stay hot this week and to slot him in the starting lineup.
Kareem Hunt – at the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Cleveland Browns have a two-headed monster in their backfield this year with Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. Kareem Hunt has handled most of the pass-catching for the Browns backfield this year. Hunt’s great matchup this week is against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have allowed 97.3 rushing yards per game.
Hunt touched the ball fourteen times last week and found pay dirt in Cleveland’s Week 11 win. He just missed out on another touchdown due to a penalty. Hunt has seen over fifty percent of the team’s snaps with Nick Chubb back and is primed for an elite performance against the Jaguars this week.
Nelson Agholor – at the Atlanta Falcons
At the beginning of the season, I would have never imagined having Nelson Agholor as a must-start for fantasy owners. After a stellar performance in primetime, Agholor is on my fantasy radar again. The speedy wide receiver has scored six times this year and has been able to churn out good fantasy numbers on a small workload.
Agholor faces off against the Atlanta Falcons, who rank near the bottom in pass defense this year. While inconsistency has been an issue for Agholor, look for him to have a repeat performance of last week against Atlanta.
Honorable Mention: Hunter Henry at the Buffalo Bills, Calvin Ridley against the Las Vegas Raiders, Wayne Gallman at the Cincinnati Bengals
