Week 7 in the NFL had some surprises and as we arrive at the halfway point of the NFL season we have more clarity on who teams really are. We had 10 wins and 4 losses last week and our season total is a solid 58-22-1. Let us aim to improve that once again with our NFL Week 8 picks!

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
The Falcons just keep finding new ways to lose every week in new heartbreaking ways. This team has the ability to score points but can’t play defense to save their lives. Meanwhile, the Panthers have not had their best player since Week 1 and have remained a very competitive team at 3-4. I think the Panthers take advantage of a demoralized Falcons team and win at home.
Pick: Panthers
Indianapolis Colts at Detroit Lions
The Lions had a huge win against Atlanta last week where Matthew Stafford threw the game-winning touchdown pass as time expired. The lines have won two in a row and three of their last five, quietly sitting at 3-3. This team is getting healthier and playing better than it did at the beginning of the year. I see the Lions pulling off the small upset at home versus the Colts. I think the Colts defense can be scored on and I don’t think Philip Rivers has the ability to sling it with Stafford.
Pick: Lions
New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears
The Bears are coming off a brutal loss on Monday Night where their offense was nonexistent and embarrassing. The Saints are coming off a big win at home against the Panthers. Earlier this year, the Bears came out flat against the Colts and lost in a similar fashion but bounced back four days later to stun Tom Brady and the Bucs.
The Saints could get Michael Thomas back in this game but there were reports last week that he would be out this week as well, so this is important to monitor. I am hoping that Matt Nagy makes adjustments because Sean Payton will follow the same thing the Rams did. I will probably never pick against the Bears this season but hey, it has worked in my favor five times this year.
Pick: Bears
