Josh Allen Passing Yards Prop: Over

Hammer the Josh Allen Over

The Josh Allen passing yards prop for 2020 is a perfect example of how you can “Take it to the Hizzy.” Sportsbooks have juicy prop bets available, and it reflects from the lack of betting options from sports closures and shutdowns.

Fanduel is putting Allen’s total yard prop of 3249.5 yards for -112 for both the Under and the Over. This prop is another Over that I will hammer until the number cranks closer to the 3500-3600 yard range.

Last year, Allen finished with 3089 passing yards in 16 total appearances. However, to rest up for a deep playoff run, the Bills sat Allen for the season finale against the Jets Week 17. Allen only completed five passing yards on five passing attempts in Week 17 before getting yanked for the extra playoff rest.

Allen averaged 205.6 passing yards per game last season in the 15 games he started. The Bills sophomore would have earned 3289 total yards if he finished the Jets game on pace with his previous 15 games. His rookie campaign provided underwhelming production, posting 2074 passing yards across 12 appearances. As a result, he only averaged 172 passing yards per game. But you don’t need to worry, those numbers shouldn’t scare you. Allen took a huge leap forward last year.

Josh Allen’s Shiny New Toy

The Bills provided #17 with some much-needed backup in 2020. The Bills weren’t fucking around when they went out and traded for Stefon Diggs. The club made it very clear; they are all-in for a Super Bowl Run in 2020. Last season, the Bills ranked 24th in total offensive yards per game (355) and 27th in total passing yards per game (204.8).

In the past three seasons, Diggs has totaled 3000 yards, 229 catches, and 23 touchdowns. while I don’t believe he’ll earn the stats to maintain his parity; his talent will elevate this offense to another level. With Diggs finishing top-five last year for yards per catch (17.9), and John Brown finished 23rd (14.7), both players will be viable downfield threats for Allen. The constant threat of the deep ball will create opportunities for the other guys like Beasley and Singletary.

Final Take

The only way Allen doesn’t hit this prop is by not finishing the season or losing multiple offensive starters. He came damn close to surpassing this total in 2019, missing just one game for rest; he’s going to crush it in 2020!
